Pedestrian Killed On I-55 Identified As Romeoville Man: Coroner

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A pedestrian killed in a crash on southbound Interstate 55 in Romeoville early Sunday has been identified as a 25-year-old Romeoville man, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

The man, Brandon Mercado-Morales, was pronounced dead at 1:31 a.m. on March 1 at Boingbrook Hospital, the coroner's office said.

Illinois State Police said it responded to a crash at 12:39 a.m. Sunday at I-55 southbound near Weber Road.

Police said there was also a secondary crash, involving three vehicles. No injuries were reported in that crash.

Police said the crash is still under investigation.
