Phone App Helps Police Track Down Alleged Robber
The 27-year-old Plainfield man was arrested on charges of robbery and theft.

An iPhone app helped police track down an alleged robber who stole two iPhones and car keys from two teens as they were leaving Thanksgiving dinner Thursday.
Kendall D. Jefferson, 27, was arrested on charges of robbery and theft. He is currently being held on a $50,000 bail.
Romeoville Cmdr. John Ferdinardo told The Herald-News that police received a call for a robbery in the 1900 block of Helen Drive at around 7:27 p.m. Nov. 26.
The teens, a 19-year-old man and his 16-year-old sister, were leaving a relative’s house and were in their car when they were approached by a man asking for directions.
Ferdinardo said the man then opened their car door and demanded their valuables. He took two iPhones and the car keys, Ferdinardo said, but dropped one phone and the keys while running to his own vehicle and driving away. Neither teen was injured in the robbery.
Police then used the Find My Phone app that helps people track down missing phones. Police tracked it to a residence in the 13800 block of South Petersburg Drive in Plainfield, according to the article. Jefferson was then arrested.
