Police Alert Parents Of 'Suspicious Man' At Romeoville Schools

Valley View School District sent out an alert Monday, and has since confirmed there is no threat to students.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Valley View School District 365U sent out an alert Monday morning that a 'suspicious man' was trying to talk to students at two schools in Romeoville. The Romeoville Police Department has since confirmed that the man doesn't pose a threat to students. The man was seen at R.C. Hill Elementary School and A. Vito Martinez Middle School, the district said.

"Romeoville Police have located the individual in question and have determined there is no threat to students or staff," officials posted on the District's website. "We want to assure all parents that our students are safe. We thank the Romeoville Police Department for their quick action and response in this matter."

The man was trying to sell gaming systems, police said. He was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with a black bed cover, according to police.
