Pot, DUI, Retail Theft: Romeoville Blotter

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty.

Dec. 9

John Gross, 49, Joseph Gross, 19 and Jack Schottenloher, 21, all of the 200 block of Hickory in Romeoville, were charged with possession of cannabis. Joseph and Schottenloher were also charged with possession of drug equipment. The arrest occurred in the 200 block of Hickory.

Dec. 11

Michael Kabia, 53, of the 1200 block of Whispering Hills Ct. in Naperville, was charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, no driver’s license on person and obstruction in road. The arrest occurred at Weber Rd. over I-55.

Dec. 15

Christine Chovanec, 41, of the 14100 block of Lehigh Dr. in Plainfield, was charged with retail theft. The arrest occurred in the 400 block of S. Weber Rd.

A criminal damage to property was reported in the 1400 block of Calendula Court. An unknown person damaged inflatable Christmas decorations valued at $325.

Dec. 16

A theft over $500 was reported in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive. Someone took an iPhone and cash from a locker at the business. Total value of the items is $645.

A retail theft was reported in the 300 block of South Weber Road. Someone took a basket of beauty supplies with an unknown value from the business.

Dec. 17

Byron Harrell II, 46, of the 300 block of Murphy, was charged with retail theft. The arrest occurred in the 400 block of S. Weber Rd.

Dec. 18

A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug equipment and disobeying a traffic sign. The arrest occurred at Highpoint and Harmony.

Daniela Martinez, 18, of the 1500 block of Baytree Dr. in Romeoville, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment. The arrest occurred at Highpoint and Harmony.

Dec. 20

A 16-year-old juvenile was charged with aggravated battery. The arrest occurred in the 300 block of Sunset Point.

A theft under $500 was reported in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive. Someone took a wallet and set of keys from a locker at the business. Total value of the items taken is $106.0

Dec. 21

A criminal damage to property was reported in the 0-100 block of Montrose. Someone damaged the tailgate door of a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the residence. Estimated cost to repair the damage is $2,000.

An attempted residential burglary was reported in the 400 block of Montrose. Someone damaged a door frame at the residence. It appears nothing was taken. Total cost to repair the damage is $200.
