Recycle Your Pumpkin Via Catapult At Lewis University
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Lewis, by the parking lot south of the main entrance.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Will County and Lewis University will offer the seventh annual collection of pumpkins for recycling with Catapult a Pumpkin 2023 on Nov. 4.
Students, residents and community members can bring their pumpkins and gourds for recycling, and the Lewis Physics Club will be operating catapults, according to the county. You can drop off your pumpkin or gourd and watch as it is catapulted away.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Lewis, by the parking lot south of the main entrance.

The Farm Bureau and the University of Illinois Extension office will also be offering information on composting. Document shredding and electronics recycling will also be offered at the event, the county said.
There is a limit of two TVs per vehicle, and 3 bank boxes of paper per vehicle.

The pumpkins collected will be mixed and composted, becoming a soil supplement and feeding future crops and gardens.
