Romeo Mosquito Abatement District Dissolved, Assumed By Village

The duties and functions of the mosquito abatement district will now be assumed by the Village.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Romeoville Village Board authorized the consolidation of the Romeo Mosquito Abatement District into the Village of Romeoville.

Village Attorney Rich Vogel said the mosquito abatement district board found it difficult to find people willing to serve.

"They felt that it was in the best interest of their functions to, essentially, dissolve their agency and have their functions and assets and so forth be consolidated and assumed by the Village," Vogel said.
