Romeoville Approves Shelter, ADA Bleachers for Romeo Crossing Park
The Village has approved the purchase of a shelter and ADA accessible bleachers for Romeoville's newest community space.

As construction wraps up on Phase III of Romeo Crossing Park, the Village has approved the purchase of a shelter and ADA accessible bleachers for Romeoville’s newest community space. The bleachers will be located by the adaptive sports field, which will host the Junior National Wheelchair Softball Tournament during the first week of August. Meanwhile, the shelter will be used at the dog park, providing shade to owners as their dogs enjoy the agility course.
“Romeo Crossing Park continues to be one of our most unique facilities,” said Mayor Noak. “As we move forward with the next phases, it will add even more enjoyment for our residents.”
Phase III construction included the adaptive sports field, an inclusive playground with ADA equipment, a challenge fitness area, plaza seating, two shelters, a restroom, and a parking lot extension with second entrance off 135th Street. Romeo Crossing Park is located at 400 W. Romeo Road near the post office. A ribbon cutting is planned for Phase III in late spring.
