Romeoville Blotter: 2,808 Humidifiers Stolen

Incidents occurred between Sept. 19 and Oct. 13.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty.

Sept. 19

Yumaida Moreno, 53, of the 2300 block of S. Whipple in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use and expired registration.

Oct. 1

Melissa Bennett, 37, of the 600 block of Murphy Dr. in Romeoville, was arrested on an in-state warrant.

Oct. 2

Brian Peppers, 27, of the 5300 block of Oakbrook in Plainfield, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, driving while license suspended and possession of drug equipment.

Oct. 5

A burglary from motor vehicle was reported in the 0-100 block of Olde English Drive. Someone rummaged through a vehicle that was parked in the street. Nothing was taken from the auto.

Oct. 6

Edgar Torres, 21, of the 500 block of Henderson in Joliet, was charged with driving while license suspended and aggravated speeding.

Oct. 7

Kristi Best, 40, of the 8300 block of Portsmouth Dr. in Darien, was charged with peddling without a license.

Oct. 8

Marco Santillan, 23, of the 10 block of Wildwood Ln. in Bolingbrook, was charged with possession of cannabis.

Erick Olvera, 19, of the 1600 block of Richfield Tr. in Romeoville, no valid driver’s license and improper lighting.

A theft over $500 was reported in the 1100 block of West Crossroads Parkway. A railcar container and chassis containing 2,808 humidifiers was taken by someone from the parking lot. Total estimated value of the items taken is $164,411.92.

Oct. 13

A burglary to motor vehicle was reported in the 0-100 block of South Weber. Someone broke a passenger window of a vehicle that was parked in the business lot and ransacked the auto. It appears nothing was taken from the vehicle. Cost to repair the window is estimated at $400.00.
