Romeoville Brings Code Violation Hearings in House

The Village of Romeoville will now be handling more ordinance violation hearings on its own, rather than sending them to a traditional court. By doing this, it will expedite compliance with these violations. Any revenue gains are minimal. The process is called administrative adjudication.

“It’s important that we resolve violations as quickly as possible,” explained Mayor John Noak.

Violations that will now be handled by administrative adjudication: Dog and Cats, Refuse and Recycling, Nuisances, Raffles, Building, Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical Codes, Housing and Property Maintenance Codes, Rental Property Inspections, Residential Rental Property Licensing and Crime Free Housing, Zoning Code.
