Romeoville Continues Enhancements in Historic Neighborhood

Phase two of the decorative street lighting campaign was approved at Romeoville's May 17th board meeting.

Romeoville continues to identify and upgrade main thoroughfares in the village. Phase two of the decorative street lighting campaign was approved last night. Residents will see these new lights on the remaining section of Arlington Drive, Dalhart Ave., and Belmont Drive. This is part of the continuing effort to reinvigorate the historic Hampton Park neighborhood.

“This is an opportunity to upgrade to LED technology, which lasts longer and gives off more light. These light poles are both practical and aesthetically pleasing,” said Mayor Noak. “We’re increasing safety while beautifying the village at the same time.”

The new poles come equipped with banner holders and a lower, secondary lamp that will provide more direct light for those using the sidewalks.
