Romeoville Man Charged With Sexual Abuse Of A Child
The 20-year-old was arrested six months after the investigation began.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A 20-year-old Romeoville man faces multiple felony charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under age 13. Andrew I. Ortega, of the 400 block of Laurel Avenue, was booked into the Will County jail on Friday, police said.
His bond is set at $10,000, meaning he would have to post 10 percent, or $1,000, to be released. As of late Monday afternoon, he remained in custody, according to jail records.
Romeoville Police Cmdr. John Ferdinardo said the alleged abuse was reported in June. Following an investigation, Ortega was arrested Dec. 8.

Ferdinardo said the victim was under age 11 at the time of the abuse. Police did not release any additional information, but said the case remains under investigation.
Ortega is due back in Will County court on Jan. 17, 2018. Earlier this year, in July, he faced charges of leaving the scene of an accident.
