Romeoville Man Dies In Crash Near Oak Brook: Police

Davion Lewis, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A 20-year-old Romeoville man died Saturday in a traffic crash on Interstate 88 near Oak Brook, according to Illinois State Police.

Davion Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

Police said a Mitsubishi box truck was disabled in the middle lane of traffic on I-88 eastbound when it was struck in the rear by a Hyundai Elantra. Lewis, the driver of the Elantra, sustained life-threatening injuries and died at the scene, police said.

Two passengers in the box truck was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

All eastbound lanes were closed for the investigation, but reopened early Sunday morning, police said.
