Romeoville Man Jailed For Baseball Bat Attack: Cops

Joliet Police hauled away this 22-year-old defendant, who lives in Romeoville.

A 22-year-old Romeoville man was charged with aggravated battery and criminal property damage after Joliet Police say he pounded his victim with a baseball bat multiple times early Tuesday morning in the 4300 block of Timberline Ridge Court. Now, Romeoville resident Christopher McCloskey finds himself locked away from society at the Will County Adult Detention Facility. The victim was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center for treatment. Joliet's Police news release did not indicate the victim's injuries were life-threatening.

McCloskey was arrested in Joliet just before 2 a.m. Officers got called to Timber Ridge Court regarding someone hit with a baseball bat.

"Officers located the victim who was bleeding from the left arm/elbow area. Officers asked the victim what happened, and was told that McCloskey attacked him with a bat and then fled," reports show.

According to police, the victim and McCloskey’s sister got into an argument about their child early in the evening. Then about an hour after the woman left, the doorbell rang. "The victim stated when he answered the door, McCloskey started to hit him with a baseball bat multiple times. McCloskey then broke out the windows of his vehicle prior to fleeing," police said.

Paramedics from the Joliet Fire Department took the injured man to St. Joe's for treatment of his injuries. A Will County Sheriff's deputy helped Joliet Police locate McCloskey, who was booked into the Will County Jail at 3:08 a.m.
