Romeoville Offers Ways to Honor Current/Former Residents

Romeoville is rolling out an initiative, called the Commemoration Program, to recognize current/former residents

Romeoville is rolling out an initiative, called the Commemoration Program, to recognize current/former residents by allowing the purchase and naming of trees and benches in their honor. In a different portion of the program, those current/former residents who have had a significant impact on the community can be nominated to have buildings, streets, or parks named after them. These two new sections will join the existing veteran brick paver program and the Fallen Heroes Memorial program, both of which are on display at the Edward “Doc” McCartan Veterans Memorial.

“Romeoville is home to tremendous people and these programs allow different ways to honor them,” explained Mayor John Noak. “Whether they served in the military, gave their time as a volunteer, or would like to add a new tree or bench to the community, we can accommodate them.”

Full qualifications and information on all of these programs can be found here.
