Romeoville Police Made Five Arrests During St. Patrick's Enforcement
The department also issued 52 citations during the enforcement period.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Police Department issued 52 citations during its St. Patrick's Day occupant protection enforcement, the department shared in a news release.
The department issued: seven seat belt citations, six child passenger protection citations, 18 speeding citations, 20 distracted driving citations, and one expired registration citation.
The department said it also made two aggravated speeding arrests, one reckless driving arrest, one driving while license suspended arrest and one arrest for driving while license revoked.

The St. Patrick's Day enforcement ran from March 13 through early March 23.
“We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason—to save lives,” Sgt. Sean Wagner said in a news release.

The Romeoville Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the St. Patrick’s Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive
High. Get a DUI” enforcement campaign. The safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
