Romeoville Police Make 1 Drug Arrest, Issue 11 Speeding Tickets During July 4th Campaign

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Police Department made one arrest for possession of a controlled substance and issued several citations as part of its recent Independence Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High Get a DUI” and “Click It or Ticket” safety campaigns, according to a release from the department.

Police also made an arrest for driving while license revoked, and issued nine seatbelt citations, 11 speeding citations and 18 other various citations.

The Romeoville Police Department said it joined forces with more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies to get drunk and drugged drivers off our roads, encourage seat belt use, and enforce speeding and other traffic laws.

The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
