ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Police Department will be doing roadside safety checks on Friday, heading into Labor Day weekend, according to police.

The department said police will be checking for those driving with defective equipment, without a valid license or permit, without proof of insurance, without seat belts or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Exact times and locations were not given, but police said the checks will be conducted at locations and times which provide the maximum opportunity for detection and apprehension of motors who drive under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
