Today at noon, Mayor Noak, along with State Senator Bertino-Tarrant, participated in the Illinois Bicentennial Flag Raising Ceremony.

At noon on December 4th, Mayor Noak, along with State Senator Bertino-Tarrant, participated in the Illinois Bicentennial Flag Raising Ceremony, which was replicated in municipalities throughout the state. Illinois was admitted to the Union on December 3, 1818, so today’s flag raising marks the state’s 199th birthday and begins the year long run up to the bicentennial.

“Illinois is a state with tremendous beauty, opportunity, and people,” said Mayor Noak. “I look forward to the celebratory events planned for 2018.”
