Romeoville Residents Injured in Hit-and-Run
The incident occurred at around 6:55 a.m. Friday and police are asking witnesses to come forward.

The Plainfield Police Department is looking for witnesses after a reported hit-and-run that injured two people early Friday morning.
The Chicago Tribune reports that a black Cadillac Escalade struck the left side of a Toyota on the 12100 block of Naperville Rd. in Plainfield at around 6:55 a.m. Friday. The driver of the Cadillac continued traveling north after striking the car.
Both the driver and the passenger of the Toyota suffered injuries, with the driver’s being “significant,” however neither were considered to be life-threatening. The Romeoville residents were taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.
Police told the Tribune the Cadillac was “an extended, or longer, Escalade and probably had passenger-side, front-bumper or passenger-side front quarter panel damage.”
Witnesses told police the northbound Escalade was driving recklessly, passing five cars at a time. Some accounts point to the Escalade swerving into another lane and hitting the Toyota. Physical evidence showed the Escalade did make contact with the driver-side rear quarter panel then fled the scene, according to Plainfield Traffic Sergeant Eric Munson.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 815-267-7238. A phone message left with Munson was not immediately returned.
