Romeoville Swears In New Police Chief
Brant Hromadka, the current deputy chief, will succeed current Chief Ken Kroll.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — New Romeoville Police Chief Brant Hromadka was sworn in at the Village Board's Wednesday meeting. He will officially begin his tenure as chief on May 30.
Hromadka will succeed current Chief Ken Kroll, who started as chief in 2020, and has been with the department for over 25 years.
Mayor John Noak said Kroll is retiring and will be missed by the Village. Kroll thanked the Board for the support he had received over his tenure.

"I just want to tell you what an honor it is to be a policeman in my hometown, and ultimately, to be chief here," Kroll said.
Hromadka, who currently serves as deputy chief for the department, has been with the department since 2000, Kroll said during the meeting.

Hromadka has served as a patrolman, tactical officer, detective, sergeant, traffic sergeant, detective commander and deputy chief of administration during his time at the department.
"Brant's credentials to be chief are superior," Kroll said. "And his life priorities are spot-on. Brant is an outstanding policeman, and he's an excellent family man."
Hromadka thanked the Mayor, Board, Village staff, his family and friends, and the police department for their support.
"It's an honor, it's a privilege," Hromadka said.
