Romeoville Village Board Appoints New Trustee
Longtime resident, business owner will fill vacancy on the board.

ROMEOVILLE, IL -- Mayor John Noak and village board members on Wednesday appointed a longtime Romeoville resident and business owner to fill a vacant trustee position.
Lourdes "Lou" Aguirre will replace recently retired trustee Sue Micklevitz. Her term will expire in 2019.
“Lou will be a great addition to the village board. She brings experience and knowledge both as a longtime resident and business owner within the community,” Noak said in a statement Wednesday night.

Aguirre has been a Romeoville resident since 1969 and has owned Lou's Styling Place, 225 W. Romeo Road, since 1989. She's been active in the community, serving on the Romeoville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors since 2011 and the Romeoville Fire and Police Commission since 2012, and is a member of the Romeoville Rotary Club.
“I look forward to the opportunity to represent the community and be a part of Romeoville’s continued growth,” Aguirre said.

"In addition to her community participation, Lou keeps busy personally as well by enjoying dancing and running," the village said in a press release. "She also has a passion for traveling. She speaks fluent Spanish and has visited 24 countries, allowing her to understand other cultures and the richness it brings to her."
