Route 53 Improvements: Lewis, Romeoville Team For 'Flyer's Corridor'
The joint effort will develop at "Flyer's Corridor Beautification and Branding" project.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Big improvements are on the way for Route 53 near Lewis University. The section of the road, which will soon be known as Flyer’s Corridor, will benefit from a joint partnership between Lewis and the Village of Romeoville. The Hitchcock Design Group has been contracted to submit a schematic design proposal that outlines the entire Flyer’s Corridor Beautification and Branding project. These are the first steps in a grand plan to beautify the roadway.
“For many visitors coming from the east, this section of Route 53 is their first impression of Romeoville,” said Mayor John Noak. “We’d like to make the best first impression possible. We’re thrilled that Lewis University shares in our vision and will be partnering with us to make it a reality.”
The plan, which is expected to greatly improve Route 53, includes landscaped medians, decorative walls and decorative streetlights with banners.
