School Bus Carrying 23 Preschool Kids Struck by Car

The driver of the bus was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic. No injuries were reported.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A Lockport Township Park District school bus was involved in a two-vehicle accident in Romeoville Monday morning.

Romeoville Police Commander John Ferdinardo said the bus was traveling northbound on Weber at the intersection of High Point. The bus went to make a left turn when it was struck by a car traveling southbound on Weber. Both drivers had a green light.

There were 23 preschool kids on the bus at the time, as well as the bus driver and an assistant. No injuries were reported and another school bus was called to take the kids to their destination.
