Senior Star at Weber Place Scores One for the Home Team with Former Chicago Cubs Pitcher Fergie Jenkins

ROMEOVILLE, IL (July 24, 2015) – Senior Star at Weber Place is pleased to invite the public to a presentation by former Chicago Cubs pitcher Ferguson “Fergie” Jenkins, from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 8 at 605 South Edward Drive, Romeoville.

A three-time All-Star and the 1971 National League Cy Young Award winner, Jenkins found success pitching for the Chicago Cubs starting in 1967. He is one of only four pitchers in major league history to record more than 3,000 strikeouts with less than 1,000 walks.

Jenkins will speak about a baseball career that spanned three decades and the success he enjoyed while playing for the Chicago Cubs. He’ll also talk about the current state of the Cubs and baseball.

“Fergie Jenkins has been an inspiration both on and off the mound,” said Tom Johnsrud, executive director at Senior Star at Weber Place. “We are thrilled to host this noted and beloved Chicago sports figure.”
