Seven Spartans to Play College Football
RHS '11 graduates sign on to continue gridiron careers at the next level.

Seven seniors will play football at the college level next year, according to RHS head football coach Jeff Kuna.
Spartans MVP Bo Goshorn will head to Augustana following a superb season as a safety and wide receiver. His 72 tackles and two interceptions plus 22 receptions for 391 yards and seven touchdowns earned him a spot on both the all-conference and the Herald-News all-area squads.
Three players will attend Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, including all-conference and all-area quarterback Matt Gillis, wide receiver Donald Miller and running back Josh Griffin.

Gillis, who was Class 6A All State honorable mention, completed 116 passes for 1,886 yards and 19 touchdowns last fall. He also carried the ball 95 times for 377 yards.
Miller, an all-conference choice and second team all area for the Herald-News, caught 55 passes for 911 yards and 12 touchdowns, while Griffin, the Spartans’ offensive MVP carried the ball 166 times for 824 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Trethewey, who’s headed for Aurora University, registered 33 tackles from his linebacking position last year. He also played offensive tackle.
Turner and Sexton will play at College of DuPage. Turner was RHS’ defensive MVP, making all-conference as a linebacker with 95 tackles. Sexton was an all-conference offensive tackle.
