Solstice Celebration Planned At Isle A La Cache
Enjoy a bonfire, hot cider and stories about the winter solstice celebrations.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — As the winter solstice, and the shortest day of the year, approaches, a celebration is planned at Isle a la Cache Museum in Romeoville.
The free event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and is for all ages. You must register by Tuesday.
According to the preserve website, there will be a bonfire and hot cider, and you can listen to the "ancients' stories of the loss and rebirth of the sun."

There is also an optional short hike around the island. The program is outdoors, so dress for the weather, the preserve said.
The museum is at 501 E. Romeo Road.
