State Rep Hosts School Supply Drive In Romeoville

ROMEOVILLE, IL — State Rep. John Connor, D-Lockport, announced his first annual school supply drive to benefit local schools and students in need. Residents can drop off donations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Connor's constituent services office, 209 W. Romeo Road in Romeoville. Items most in need include pencils, notebooks, glue sticks, looseleaf paper, crayons, markers and classroom supplies like tissues, paper towels and dry erase markers.

“The new school year is an exciting time for students and often a very expensive time for parents and teachers,” said Connor. “Collecting school supplies to benefit students and schools in need is one way the community can come together, give back and help contribute to the success of all local students.”

Connor added, “Teachers spend hundreds of dollars each year out of their own pockets for classroom school supplies. The donations will collect will help supplement local classrooms and help to give hardworking teachers a break.”
