Stolen Diapers, Vandalized Vehicles: Romeoville Blotter

A look at recent crimes in the Village of Romeoville.

Aug. 17: Two burglaries to motor vehicles were reported in the 100 block of Ferndale. A radar detector and phone charger were taken from one vehicle and tools and a GPS were taken from another vehicle.

Aug. 21: A criminal damage to property was reported in the 700 block of Parkwood. Unknown person(s) scratched the paint of a parked vehicle doing an estimated $1,000 in damage.

Aug. 29: A theft over $500 was reported in the 100 block of Southcreek Parkway. Unknown person(s) took two utility vehicles valued at $2,000 each from a job site. One of the vehicles was later recovered.

Aug. 30: A retail theft was reported in the 400 block of South Weber Road. Unknown person(s) entered the store and took an iPhone valued at $969.99 from the business.

Aug. 30: A retail theft was reported in the 400 block of South Weber Road. An unknown person took two packages of diapers with a total value of $27.74 from the business.

Aug. 30: A criminal damage to property was reported in the 2000 block of Wheatfield Drive. Unknown person(s) broke the rear driver’s side window of a vehicle that was parked in the street.

Aug. 31: A burglary was reported in the area of Taylor and Southcreek Parkway. Unknown person(s) took the batteries out of two construction lifts. The batteries have an estimated value of $600.

Aug. 31: A burglary was reported in the area of Taylor Road and Southcreek Parkway. Unknown person(s) took approximately 200 feet of welding cord from the job site. The item taken has an estimated value of $200.

Sept. 2: A criminal damage to property was reported in the 200 block of Hemlock. Unknown person(s) damaged the rear window, windshield and door frame of a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the residence.
