Three Romeoville Police Officers Sworn In
All three officers, Zachary Durrani, Grant Groset and Matthew Slocum, graduated from the police academy in August, Chief Ken Kroll said.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Three police officers were sworn in at Romeoville's Village Board meeting on Wednesday. All three officers, Zachary Durrani, Grant Groset and Matthew Slocum, graduated from the police academy in August, Chief Ken Kroll said.
Kroll said Groset is from Naperville, and is a graduate of Naperville Central High School, College of DuPage and Illinois State University. He has previously worked in loss prevention at retail stores.
"I'm just excited, and looking forward to [what's] to come," Groset said.

Durrani is an Oak Forest High School graduate, and worked as a manager at Noodles and Company before coming to the department, Kroll said.
"I would like to thank this village for giving me this honorable opportunity that I'm very dearly grateful for," Durrani said. Durrani also thanked his stepfather, who is a police officer, and said he is going to follow in his footsteps and "be a great officer just like he is."

Slocum, who grew up in Manhattan and New Lenox, is a graduate of Lincoln-Way District 210 and Lewis University, Kroll said.
"Thank you everyone for being here today and for the opportunity," Slocum said. "As my family can attest, I've wanted to be a police officer my whole life...it's a truly a blessing to be starting here."
