Traffic Alert: Nighttime Lane Closures On I-55

ROMEOVILLE, IL -- The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that beginning this week, temporary, nighttime lane closures will take place on I-55 between Weber Road and Willow Springs Road in Bolingbrook, Woodridge, Romeoville, Darien, Burr Ridge and Willowbrook, weather permitting.

The scope of the project includes resurfacing, roadway patching, bridge deck repairs and drainage improvements. The overall project is expected to be completed in fall 2017.

IDOT said motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
