“Just looking at the scene (here) you can tell that the motorcycle is quite a distance from the actual impact, so (speed) did play a factor,” Fisher told Ch. 7 news.

Plainfield Academy also closed today due to the proximity of the accident.

Marc Bessette lives near the crash site.

“Didn’t see the motorcycle, but there was a body in front of the house,” Bessette told Ch. 7 News.

Lambert worked with his mother Mary Alice Lambert at her shop, The Tawny Tortoise, in downtown Plainfield, according to a report from the The Herald News.

“Randy was a real nice guy,” said Stuart Littell, owner of Moe Joe’s restaurant, located near the Lamberts’ shop. “He was a big fan of our buffalo wings. He would carry out to eat [at the shop].”

The initial on-scene measurement phase of the investigation is complete and Illinois Route 59 is fully open. The remainder of the exhaustive investigation is ongoing.
