Veterans Woods Trail Section Closed For Bridge Replacement

The bridge's wood decking needs to be replaced, and one of the metal railings was damaged by a fallen tree.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A portion of the path at Veterans Woods in Romeoville will be closed to trail users as work begins to replace the trail bridge, according to a news release from the Forest Preserve District of Will County.

The bridge connects the preserve's two access areas, at Roy F. Hassert Grove and Traders Corners, the preserve said.

The bridge's wood decking needs to be replaced, and one of the metal railings was damaged by a fallen tree. The new bridge will consist of a metal structure like the current bridge, but will include concrete decking instead of wood, the preserve said.
