Winter Weather Reminders For Romeoville Residents
Although it doesn't seem it like this week, winter is upon us.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — Although it may not feel like it this week, winter is already upon us. The Village of Romeoville has prepared several reminders for residents to keep in mind during winter.
The Village of Romeoville has a snow parking ordinance of odd-even parking, which goes into effect when there is two inches of snow or more. According to the village, this requires residents to park along the odd-numbered side of streets on odd-numbered calendar days, and on the even-numbered side of the street on even-numbered calendar days.
The fine for snow-related parking violations is $50, according to the Village.

Residents can also help snow plow crews by putting garbage cans on their driveway or in their grass, not on the street, the Village said. If possible, don't leave your car in the street; and don't snow blow or shovel snow into the street.
Residents and businesses should also help keep fire hydrants clear of ice and snow. You can shovel three feet around the hydrant to ensure the fire department has quick access in case of a fire, the Village said.
