Woman Bites, Batters, Chases and Tries to Run Over Other Woman: Cops

She also had some heroin on her, police said.

A Lockport woman bit and battered another woman, then chased her in a pickup truck and tried to run her over, police said.

Claudia Denning, 37, refused to get out of the other woman’s van while they were parked outside Denning’s First Street home about 2 a.m. Monday, police said. When the other woman got out instead, Denning followed her onto the front lawn and allegedly battered and bit her.

“The victim was able to free herself and drove off with Denning in pursuit in a pickup truck,” police said. “Denning followed the victim down Broadway and struck the victim’s van on the passenger side while the victim attempted to drive away from Denning.”

The woman pulled her van into a Broadway gas station, got out of the vehicle and headed for the door, police said, and that was when “Denning accelerated her truck in an attempt to strike the victim, however a large curb stopped the truck from doing so.”

Denning was taken into custody at her home on charges of battery and aggravated assault. While deputies were placing her under arrest, they allegedly discovered she was holding heroin. Denning was then also charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
