• Suspect detained in fatal Round Lake Beach shooting (chicagotribune.com) — A Round Lake Beach man has been ordered held in custody after prosecutors said he fatally shot his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend on Sunnyside Court and then fled Lake County. Authorities say the killing, captured on video, and an alleged attempt to shoot the ex-girlfriend led a judge to rule that no release conditions could protect the surviving witness or community.
