'Enhances ability to protect and serve': Round Lake Police Department introduces new police canine addition to agency (lakemchenryscanner.com) — Round Lake’s police force just added a new K-9 officer, Valor, a one-year-old German Shepherd trained in patrol work, narcotics detection, and tracking missing people. Paired with Officer Nelson Rodriguez, the team completed extensive certification and is already on patrol, with police leaders saying Valor will significantly enhance efforts to protect and serve village residents. 
2. Police cite Round Lake Beach man with running stop sign, crashing into fire station in Round Lake (lakemchenryscanner.com) — An SUV driven by a Round Lake Beach man crashed into decorative planters and the front of Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District Station 1 on West Nippersink Road in Round Lake after he reportedly suffered a medical emergency. No firefighters, civilians, or the driver were injured, damage to the station was minor, and operations remain fully normal.
3. Animals uninjured, pig runs away after house fire leaves resident displaced in Round Lake Beach (lakemchenryscanner.com) — A gas-fed fire badly damaged the exterior of a Round Lake Beach home and left it uninhabitable, but the resident, dog, and even a runaway pig all escaped unharmed. Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District crews quickly knocked down the flames despite a damaged gas meter, while neighboring departments covered other calls in the Round Lake area.
4. Lake County girls soccer All-Area team (dailyherald.com) — Lake County’s All-Area girls soccer team highlights standout players from schools across the region, with programs like Libertyville, Stevenson, Warren, and more represented. Round Lake is on the honorable mention list through junior midfielder Fernanda Sotelo, giving local fans a name to watch as she continues her high school career.
