• Developer drops out of Savoy's downtown square project (news-gazette.com) — Plans for a new downtown square in Savoy hit a snag as the original developer, Downtown Development Group LLC, has withdrawn over financial requirements. Village officials say the site is now shovel-ready and will seek new proposals this fall, aiming for a mixed-use project with shops, housing, and event space that could reshape daily life in central Savoy.
   

• Willard confirms additional delay on United service to O'Hare (news-gazette.com) — If you were hoping to fly United from Willard to O’Hare soon, you’ll now be waiting until at least fall 2027 because of extended FAA schedule caps in Chicago. Willard officials say United still plans to serve the Champaign-Urbana and Savoy area once restrictions ease, while American’s flights to O’Hare remain available in the meantime.
   

• Savoy 2024 non-profits ranked by total revenue (chambanasun.com) — Nonprofits based in Savoy saw millions of dollars flow through their books in 2024, led by Acacia Fraternity Incorporated with just over $1 million in revenue. A new ranking of 10 organizations, drawn from IRS Form 990 filings, highlights which local groups are growing, which are shrinking, and how contributions and assets are shifting across Savoy’s charitable landscape.
