4 Hospitalized After Hazmat Situation in Lockport

Four people were sickened by fumes Tuesday afternoon at the secretary of state's office in Lockport.
WJOL is reporting that four people were hospitalized after a chemical release of some kind took place at the office, 1029 E. 9th St., around 12:45 p.m. Investigators were working to determine if the chemical was released intentionally by someone in the facility, according to WJOL.
Multiple ambulances and fire trucks responded to the scene Tuesday afternoon. The Herald-News reported that, as of 3:30 p.m., no toxins had been found, and patients who had been hospitalized were not showing any adverse effects from the incident and were expected to be released.
