Joliet Police Assisting in Fox Lake Manhunt

Several hundred officers from outside agencies have been helping.

Police agencies from as far away as Joliet have been assisting in the hunt for three men who shot and killed 52-year-old Fox Lake Police Officer Charles Joseph Gliniewicz Tuesday morning.

Lake County Undersheriff Raymond Rose said several hundred police officers from outside agencies have been assisting in the manhunt, which is helping officers come and go. Rose said several officers have been momentarily overcome by high temperatures.

Rose told the Chicago Tribune that “every major law enforcement agency you can think of” has assisted in some way, including the ATF, FBI and Secret Service.

Police have said the suspects are three men, two white and one black. Residents in the area have been told to stay inside. Several schools were placed on lockdown in response to the manhunt.
