Joliet Township High School Administrators Graduate From Learning Forward Academy

The Learning Forward Academy empowers members to construct knowledge and develop strategies for improved educator practice.

JCHS Academy Coordinator Robin English, JTHS Curriculum Director Dianne McDonald and JWHS Assistant Principal Terri Schrishuhn recently graduated from the Learning Forward Academy. Graduates completed a rigorous two and a half year program where participants worked collaboratively to gain knowledge to solve significant student learning problems in their schools, districts, or organizations.

The Learning Forward Academy empowers members to construct knowledge and develop strategies for improved educator practice; become the professional learning subject-matter experts for their organizations; successfully implement professional learning in their environment; and ultimately increase student achievement.

“As a result of the work of these individuals through their Learning Forward Academy commitment, we have been able to reestablish our walk through team which allows us to gather data on our instructional practices,” said JTHS Assistant Superintendent Karla Guseman. “This information allows us to plan targeted professional development for staff as well as reaffirm our areas of strength. They, along with our staff as a whole, demonstrate their commitment to being a lifelong learner.”
