Joliet Woman Annoys Neighbors With Loud Music, Scuffles With The Cops When They Try To Write Her A Ticket: Police

The woman struggled with officers and tried to kick out a car window before banging her head against it, police said.

A Joliet woman’s neighbors called the cops on her for playing her music too loud after midnight, then scuffled with officers showed up to write her a ticket, police said.

The police said residents of a Twin Oaks Drive apartment building called the law about 1:15 a.m. Thursday and complained about loud music coming from a second-story unit. One resident reportedly said the same inconsiderate neighbor had pulled this stunt at least a half dozen times.

When officers arrived, they could hear the music and went to the apartment to write the resident a ticket. Michelle Rangel, 30, answered the door to the apartment in question and was “very belligerent with the officers,” police said.

Rangel reportedly refused to provide officers identification and “balled up her fist.” She was also “highly agitated and appeared to be intoxicated,” police said.

Rangel scuffled with the officers and ended up on the floor, police said. She allegedly continued to struggle and was taken into custody on charges of resisting police and disorderly conduct.

After she was put into a police car, Rangel tried to kick out a window, police said. When she failed to break the glass with her feet, she reportedly banged her head against it.

Rangel was released on her own recognizance.
