Obituary: Albert "Al" Thompson

Proud member of the Cayuga Nation passes away after a short battle with cancer at the age of 63.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Albert “Al” Thompson

Albert Thompson, passed away at the age of 63, after a short battle with cancer, on September 7, 2023, at Bolingbrook Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Al was born in Silver Creek, NY, on December 21, 1959, the son of the late Philip and Ruth Thompson. Al grew up on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation in New York, and was a proud member of the Cayuga Nation.

He retired from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home after over 10 years of dedicated service as Operating Superintendant.

Al is survived by his children, Nick (Katie), and Melanie (Zach); and his three grandchildren, Olivia, Owen and Emi.

He is preceded by his loving wife, Tina (nee Battista) Thompson; his parents, Philip and Ruth Thompson; and his two brothers, David and Richard Thompson.

A private Memorial Gathering for Albert Thompson will be held at a later date. As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to American Legion Charities.
