Slammer Erik Lis King of All-Star Game
Oak Lawn native wins MVP honor; Joliet players involved in all four runs scored by East Division.

Erik Lis earned MVP honors as he tripled in two runs in the first inning and the East Division All-Stars never looked back in a 4-2 victory over the West Division All-Stars Wednesday night.
The Slammers had four representatives chosen to play in the game but outfielder Josh Flores elected not to make the trip in order to rest his wrist and prepare for the second half.
Meanwhile, Oak Lawn native Lis wasted no time making an impact.

Matt Brown doubled to lead-off the bottom of the first inning and Mike Torres singled him to third. Torres stole second but it didn’t matter as Lis tripled both runners in to give the East a 2-0 lead.
He later scored on a RBI grounder from J.T. Hall. Lis singled in the third but was left stranded. He finished his MVP night 2-for-3 with a run scored, two RBIs and a triple.

Joliet native Ryan Quigley entered the game in the top of the second and walked the lead-off man. But he got Will Block to hit into a 6-3 double play and struck out the next batter to toss a scoreless frame.
Meanwhile, Bobby Leeper earned the start in left field as Flores, who was originally going to start, did not make the trip.
Leeper struck out and grounded out his first two times out. After two home runs from the West made the score 3-2 in favor of the East, Leeper was involved in a key insurance run.
With two outs and Jake Eigsti on third, Leeper hit a high pop up that was dropped, allowing Eigsti to score and Leeper to go all the way to third.
