SHOREWOOD, IL — The Will County Sheriff's Department issued a news bulletin Wednesday afternoon to alert Joliet-area residents of an attempted child luring Tuesday evening near Shorewood. Sheriff's deputies were called to the 24000 block of Jensen Street where police learned that the stranger apparently told an 11-year-old girl, "Come here, I got something for you," police said.

According to Will County, the girl told deputies that as she walked to her friend's house on Jensen Street, walking westbound approaching Canterbury, "an unknown male … came running towards her yelling, 'Come here, I got something for you.'"

Police described the stranger as being a white man with brown or black ear-length hair, wearing black shorts and a black T-shirt.
