Troy Fire Protection District Chief Steve Engledow this week announced that he will retire next month.
Engledow, who was a Joliet firefighter for nearly three decades, told the Herald-News that it’s time to move on as his contract is ending: “I think I accomplished what I set out to do here and I’m happy with the shape I’m leaving the department in.”
He serves as Troy fire chief for five years.
