2 Charged Over Pizza Delivery Armed Robbery, Drug Dealing

They were arrested by Skokie detectives and accused of cocaine delivery days after allegedly robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint.

SKOKIE, IL — Less than a week after a driver delivering pizza to a Skokie apartment building was reportedly robbed at gunpoint, police have charged a Chicago man and woman with armed robbery. The incident took place around 11 p.m. on June 17, when a delivery was called to the 9000 block of Niles Center Road. The driver was called to the back of an apartment complex where he was robbed.

Police made two arrests in the case less than four days later. At 8:18 p.m. on June 22, Skokie detectives took two people suspected of involvement in the robbery into custody in the 4800 block of North Avers Avenue in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood, according to police.

Preston D. Walker, 27, of the 4900 block of North Kenmore Avenue in Chicago, was ordered held without bond. He was taken into custody with multiple active warrants for his arrest and faces additional charges in various other jurisdictions, according to police. State prison records indicate less than a year ago he was released on parole while serving a 10 year sentence for a 2012 armed robbery.
