Armed Robberies Reported; Wilmette Teen Faces Gun Felony: Blotter

Gunmen tie up victims, DUI driver endangers life of child, aggravated battery at Walmart: Skokie police blotter from Nov. 19 to Dec. 5

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Readers are reminded that everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

INCIDENTS

ROBBERY
Two juveniles were arrested around 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 23 at the Old Orchard Macy's after an aggravated robbery and retail theft were reported.

WHEEL THEFT
Someone removed all four wheels from a Nissan in the 5300 block of Greenwood Street and a Honda in the 5300 block of Suffield Terrace between 2 and 3:30 a.m. on Nov 24.

ARMED ROBBERY/KIDNAPPING
Two people were tied up and robbed at gunpoint by four unidentified men with at least two guns around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 in the 5200 block of Touhy Avenue.

AGGRAVATED ROBBERY
A robbery and an aggravated battery was reported at the Shell gas station at 8400 McCormick Blvd. around 3:15 p.m. on Nov. 29. No weapon was displayed. An 18-year-old Chicago man was later arrested and released without charges in connection with the incident.

BURGLARY ATTEMPT
Someone attempted to break into a pizza restaurant in the 4100 block of Dempster Street between 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 and 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 1.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone broke into the Starbucks at 4116 Dempster St. between 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 and 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 1.

HOME BURGLARIES

  • A ruse burglary was reported between 4:06 and 4:11 p.m. on Dec. 1 in the 4600 block of Fargo Avenue.
  • Someone broke into a home in the 7600 block of Niles Center Road between 1:30 and 5:10 p.m. on Dec. 1.
  • A residential burglary was reported in the 8200 block of Keystone Avenue between 4:50 and 8 p.m. on Dec. 1.
  • Someone burglarized a home in the 8300 block of Kildare Avenue around 5 p.m. on Dec. 2.
  • Someone stole bicycles from a residential garage in the 5000 block of Warren Street between 3:16 and 4:33 p.m. on Dec. 3.
  • Someone broke into a home in the 9500 block of Lavergne Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 using brute force.

BATTERY
After an altercation in line for a register, a shopper reported being repeatedly battered with a shopping cart around 4:50 p.m. on Dec. 1 at a business in the 3600 block of Touhy Avenue.

STOLEN CAR
Someone stole a car from the 3300 block of Church Street between 2:30 and 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 2.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone burglarized the Jiffy Lube in the 5100 block of Golf Road between 5 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 3.

SCHOOL BURGLARY
A burglary was reported at a school in the 9200 block of Lawndale Avenue between 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 and 7:45 a.m. on Dec. 3.

ARRESTS

Vyacheslav Stakhursakyy, 41, of the 2500 block of West Iowa Street, Chicago, was arrested on Nov. 19 in the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Pawl K. Kloza, 32, of the 200 block of Flora Avenue, Glenview, was arrested around 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 20 in the 5400 block of Golf Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above.

Theoiry Hamilton, 31, of the 5800 block of North Hermitage Avenue, Chicago, was arrested on Nov. 20 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with theft.

Elvia L. Harvey, 30, of the 8700 block of Kimball Avenue, Skokie, was arrested on Nov. 20 at her home on an in-state warrant.

Biblia De Ros De Rosario Cabada, 25, of the 500 block of West Ridgeland Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around 2 a.m. on Nov. 21 in the 9600 block of Gross Point Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license.

Brice P. Darbyshire, 33, of the 5000 block of Dobson Street, Skokie, was arrested around 1 a.m. on Nov. 22 in the 3400 block of Howard Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Gerardo C. Zuniga, 42, of the 6200 block of North Oakley Street, Chicago, was arrested around 4:43 a.m. on Nov. 22 in the 1700 block of Leland Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding 35 or more mph above the speed limit.

Eric J. Haberkorn, 22, of the 5100 block of Grove Street, Skokie, was arrested at the Skokie Police Department on Nov. 23 on an in-state warrant.

Christoper L. Custodio, 29, of the 7700 block of Lowell Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 23 in the 4900 block of Dempster Street and charged with criminal damage to property and public indecency.

Jeff K. M. Noel, 21, of the 9300 block of Linder Avenue, Skokie, was arrested on the evening of Nov. 24 at the Old Orchard Shopping Center and charged with four counts of criminal trespassing.

Albert E. Youkhana, 30, of the 5300 block of North Ashland Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 25 in the 3600 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with DUI – drugs, possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended or revoked license and obstructing identification.

Samantha A. Lindquist, 24, of the 500 block of Eastman Street, Arlington Heights, was arrested around 1:15 p.m. on Nov. 26 in the 8200 block of Skokie Boulevard on an in-state warrant and subsequently charged with criminal trespassing to a vehicle, possession of drug equipment and obstructing identification.

David J. Miller, 23, of the 8100 block of Keating Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 27 in the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with delivery of more than 30 grams of cannabis and possession of drug equipment.

Jody L. Mineau, 45, of the 5700 block of North Kingsdale Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1:40 a.m. on Nov. 28 at the Holiday Inn, 5300 W . Touhy Ave., and charged with battery in connection with an incident earlier that night.

Hanna L. Bowes, 22, of the 9200 block of Kilbourn Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. on Nov. 28 in the 8900 block of Gross Point Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.

Sandra C. Salgado, 20, of the 1800 block of West Birchwood Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 4 p.m. on Nov. 29 and charged with retail theft from the Skokie Walmart, 3626 W. Touhy Ave.

Achour O. Dankha, 24, of the 5200 block of Mulford Street, Skokie, was arrested around 2 a.m. on Nov. 30 in the 7700 block of Niles Center Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Tyrone P. Bowie, 60, of the 700 block of Dodge Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 3 a.m. on Dec. 1 in the 9900 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.

Jayda N. Abbot, 19, of the 9000 block of Skokie Boulevard, Skokie, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 2 in the 4000 block of Greenwood Street and charged with driving under the influence of drugs.

Milton P. Ucho Orellana, 31, of the 900 block of Ridge Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 2 a.m. on Dec. 2 in the 8200 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the life of a child and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.

Monique J. Burns, 29, and Tawanda C. Tate, 41, both of the 1600 block of West Jonquil Terrace, Chicago, were arrested shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 and charged with retail theft at the Skokie Walmart, 3626 W. Touhy Ave. Burns was also charged with aggravated battery in connection with the same incident.

Tatanisha E. Smith, 24, of the 4000 of West Crystal Street, Chicago, was arrested around 3 a.m. on Dec. 3 in the 9000 block of the northbound Edens Expressway and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater. She was also issued a citation for speeding between 26 and 34 mph above the limit.

Ana B. Santiago, 57, of the 6400 block of North Greenview Avenue, Chicago, and Lamar Wimberly, 51, of the 7600 block of North Sheridan Road, Chicago, were arrested around 3 p.m. on Dec. 4 and charged with retail theft at the Bed, Bath and Beyond, 5545 W. Touhy Ave. and referred to another jurisdiction.

Cooper J. Heinz, 19, of the 3100 block of Sprucewood Road, Wilmette, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a firearm, reckless discharged of a firearm and disorderly conduct.

Edin Majdanac, 27, of the 1700 block of West Estes Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 in the 1600 block of West Greenleaf Avenue and charged with burglary in connection with a Nov. 28 incident at the Old Orchard Apple Store. More info...
