The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem Collects Over 8,500 Diapers for Families in Need
In less than 2 months, The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem collected an astounding 8,500+ diapers during their Diaper Drive.

The numbers are in! In less than two months, The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) collected an astounding 8,500+ diapers during their 2nd Annual Diaper Drive, which concluded earlier this month. The volunteer organization, which has been a lifeline of commitment and support for NorthShore’s hospitals and programs since its inception in 1936, exceeded its goal of 3,500 diapers, and its members couldn’t be more excited with the results.
“The show of support for our Diaper Drive has been truly incredible,” said Claudine Gerbel, president of The Auxiliary. “It was wonderful to see how the community rallied around our cause and supported our efforts,” she added. “Thanks to them, we collected 5,000 more diapers than we anticipated, and we were able to help even more families in need at NorthShore’s Perinatal Family Support Center.”
The Perinatal Family Support Center provides a wide array of services to women and their families who experience challenges related to pregnancy, birth, prematurity or perinatal loss. Using a relationship-focused model of care, social workers work hand-in-hand with nurses and physicians to provide patients and families with assessment, crisis intervention, emotional support and linkage to community resources, while promoting family stability. All perinatal care services of the Perinatal Family Support Center are provided free of charge.
