CTA Suspends Yellow Line Service After Embankment Gives Way in Skokie
Soil collapsed under tracks along McCormick Boulevard Sunday night. Stoppage could last several days.

CTA Yellow Line trains have been indefinitely suspended after an embankment gave way under a stretch of track in Skokie during a brief power outage late Sunday night.
A CTA spokeswoman said it’s still unclear that caused the soil to collapse underneath the track that carries trains along McCormick Boulevard between Howard and Oakton streets and it’s being determined how the track can be made safe again, the Chicago Tribune reports.
A memo from the village of Skokie Monday morning indicated service could be suspended for several days.
