D'Amico to Host Military and Veterans Discount Card Program to help Military Families Save
State Rep. John D'Amico wants help Veterans and their families save at various business locations.

State Rep. John D’Amico, D-Chicago, and the Mayfair Veterans Committee will help local veterans and military families apply a cost-saving discount program on Friday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mayfair Public Library, 4400 W Lawrence Ave. in Chicago.
“Our veterans and service members have put their lives at risk in order to protect us at home. I want to make sure they are shown appreciation for their service,” D’Amico said. “The Military and Veterans Discount Card Program will help give back to our military members by helping them save money through discounts and incentives from businesses all over Cook County.”
D’Amico is partnering with the Mayfair Veterans to welcome staff from the Cook County Recorder of Deeds to enroll military members and veterans for the Cook County Military and Veterans Discount Program. This program gives free discount cards to service members and veterans that can be used at participating businesses throughout Cook County to receive special discounts. All active-duty military, guard/reservists, and veterans with an honorable or general discharge are eligible to receive a discount card. Please bring a government-issued photo or military ID, and if you are a veteran, please bring a copy of your DD-214 or other separation papers indicating discharge status. Applicants will receive their cards by mail within 10 business days.

“This program is a great way to combine efforts from the public and private sector on behalf of the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our country,” D’Amico said. “I encourage service members and those who know veterans to spread the word, so that we can enroll as many members and veterans in this program to receive discounts.”
